USA Hockey has launched its online, Age-Specific Coaching Educational Modules (A-SCEM’s) that will further enhance the organization’s already well regarded Coaching Education Program (CEP). The modules address on-ice skill development and team concepts, as well as off-ice training and overall athlete wellness. (MAWHA)
Coaches are required, as par of their overall coaching education, to take and complete the module, for each specific level they coach. Currently, levels must be completed by December 31, 2011. Midget coaches should complete their A-SCEM’s as soon as possible. Once the online course is started, you have 30 days to complete. Courses run 5-6 hours in length, so please plan accordingly.
From Mike Lichtenberger, Atlantic District Coach-In-Chief – email@example.com:
Listed below are the remaining dates for teh Coaching Education Program (CEP). Coaches may walk-up to any level 1-2-3 classroom clinic and register on site. Coaches have until 12/31 of any given year to become current in his/her certification. Coaches are eligable to be on the ice and on the bench before that time, nothing here has changed, as many classroom clinics re offered after the start of the season.
Coaches may take the A-SCEM’s, prior to attending the classroom clinic, so there is no need to wait. Mike is available to assist and clarify the new rule changes affecting coaching education.
